Our History

Founder and Audio Pro,  Richard Dalbec first opened his doors in the Capital District in 1979 to serve audio professionals and audiophiles alike.   With over fifty professional lines and a level of service unmatched in the Northeast, Dalbec Audio quickly made its mark custom tailoring systems for theaters, nightclubs, schools, houses of worship, for varied municipal, broadcast, recording applications and for HiFi audio consumers, making live application a critical piece of his loudspeaker design process.  

Before long, Dalbec Audio gained a reputation for bringing warmth and clarity to even the most challenging venues.  Richard Dalbec and his small team, including engineers and craftsmen went to work developing a new line of speakers to service this market segment. The Pinnacle of his work, the LQT Speaker Series, has gained International Recognition for its revolutionary design for combining consistent and extended coverage, while maintaining warmth and clarity.  

Today, Dalbec Audio serves venues throughout the Northeast with design and acoustic consultation services, professional installations and system maintenance.  With a manufacturing facility capable of metal fabrication, custom short productions of loudspeakers, electronic support components, custom furniture and cabinetry, Dalbec Audio focuses not only on providing world class, state of the art public address systems, but can properly outfit venues that demand the next level of aesthetic consideration that can't be reproduced with off the shelf components.
